The primary responsibility of the Family Law Program Assistant is to assist the Family Law Program Manager in the day-to-day workflow and delivery of pro bono legal services to low-income individuals in Clark County in accordance with Clark County Volunteer Lawyers Program’s (CCVLP’s) mission, CCVLP’s policies and procedures, and the Washington Rules of Professional Responsibility.
The Family Law Program Assistant works primarily in-person (ensuring an in-office presence during walk-in hours), though occasional remote work may be approved.
The Program Assistant reports to the Family Law Program Manager, but also works closely with the Co-Executive Director of Family Law & Survivor Support.
Funding for this position currently limits it to 20 hrs/week. If additional ongoing funding becomes available, the number of hours permitted each week, or the hours expected of the Program Assistant each week, may increase. Any increase in hours will be accompanied by a conversation with the Family Law Program Manager and approval by the Co-Executive Director of Family Law & Survivor Support. The Program Assistant will be provided a Position Change letter reflecting any change to hours or scope of position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Day-to-day responsibilities may change based on the needs of the program, its clients, volunteers and staffing. The primary individual responsible for the duties described herein may also change, alternate, or be delegated by the Family Law Program Manager.
The specific expectations (including instructions, turnaround timelines, and case prioritization methods) can be found in the Family Law Program training manual. The Program Assistant will not only assist in maintaining the manual, but no changes will be made to it without notifying them.
